OUTREACH MINISTRIES:

People Offering Resources Together (PORT): PORT is an ecumenical program offering meals and shelter to the homeless during the winter months. We participate in this program on a rotating basis with other churches.

Living Interfaith Network (LINK): LINK is an ecumenical network assisting people in need throughout the entire Lower Peninsula area. It also is the sponsoring organization for the PORT program discussed above.

THRIVE Peninsula: THRIVE is an area ecumenical organization formed to serve Denbigh residents in need of clothing, food, and monetary assistance.

Virginia Oncology: Volunteers meet on Wednesday mornings to prepare snack bags of sandwiches and cookies for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Virginia Oncology. Two volunteers arrive at the facility about 11:30 am and set up to serve the patients the snack bags along with beverages, chips, and fruit provided by the facility. The nurses, doctors, and staff members are also served. The team is usually finished by 1 pm.

We also participate in seasonal and special events such as Souper Bowl Sunday, Stocking Tree (Christmas presents for young children at Cypress Terrace), Episcopal Relief and Development, the Heifer Project, Food Basket Sunday (monthly), and an annual Christmas/Crafts bazaar.
