Terra Cycle – Let’s Fill it UP!

It’s time to renew our efforts to fill up our Terra Cycle boxes and reduce what is sent to the landfill!  As a reminder, these boxes are in support of a DIOSOVA Creation Care Team project that involves a partnership between the Creation Care Team, Church of the Ascension in Norfolk (who is hosting the collection), and a company called Terra Cycle.

Terra Cycle Zero-Waste Boxes are used to collect hard-to-recycle items that would typically end up in landfills. The Creation Care Team has identified eleven categories of hard-to-recycle items that individuals or churches can collect. 

Recently, Shenneth brought in a large bag of bottle caps that her and her neighbor collected.  Way to go Shenneth!  Not only did she collect them herself, she got a neighbor involved.  That’s creation care evangelism!

Every week for the next several weeks, the Weekly Word will feature examples and descriptions of the Terra Cycle categories so that everyone is familiar with what can and can’t be deposited in the boxes.  Thanks to all who have added to the collection.  Keep it up!!

Any brand and/or size of plastic or metal bottle caps are acceptable.  Please make sure they are clean!
